Experiment 2
Combined model in Sandbox

The task for this week was to combine the models so that they somehow touch each other. My two models here seem to be separated, but they actually combine on the cantilevered platform. Thinking about how different people would approach the building, I thought of the engineer's path and decided that an underwater entrance would be interesting, so I carved a river in the landscape that leads to the base of the model.

Experiment 2
Electroliquid Aggregation

Synergy
1+1=3

Combine two models, one concept from each artist in "electroliquid aggregation"

Placement of elements and subsequent effects of light stress self importance.

Vertical elements and infinite space create ambiguous bounds and play on the building's significance.
Wholistic and dispersed elements compliment each other in fusing the building and landscape, creating a sense of equality.

Experiment 2
Axonometric drawings of concepts
Dispersion and fragmentation resulting in the landscape enveloping the building.

Horizontality and low scale of the building complements the discreteness and invisibility of the architecture.

Reflection as a way of creating infinite space and ambiguous bounds.

Intersecting shapes and forms distorting internal and external perceptions.

Placement of planes as a filter of light.

Verticality of elements stresses importance in the landscape.

Wholistic use of a singular material heightens a sense of monumentality.

"Placement of planes as a filter of light"

With the 'filter of light' idea, I also wanted to play with colour and transparency of elements. I used primary colours to emphasise the simplistic prismatic forms and because secondary colours can be create depending on which section of the model is taken into account. The monument cannot be physically feasible (with current technology) so I included solid walls inside the glass casing, and still maintained the 5 prism restriction.
